THE WINNERS OF THE BEST CONTEST EVER!!!
Well guys, here is the moment you've all been waiting for. Let me first say there was a pretty amazing number of creative and hilarious entries, and it was difficult to pick which were the best. Yet, it must be done, so here are the winners...
THE GRAND PRIZE (Cartoon Cameo, Free Custom Shirt, Signed Print) GOES TO:

DAN DELANY and RYAN SCHILT for "Happy Thanksgiving"
(See the original here)
When I saw this one I knew it would be nearly impossible to top. Everything is dead on. EVERYTHING. From the shirt and hair colors to the placement of the food and forks, to the actual construction of the speech bubble, this one has it all. Plus, those lego people are just ridiculous. Amazing job guys.
SECOND PLACE PRIZE (Free Shirt, Signed Print) GOES TO:

LILLY O. for "Opposite Day"
(see the original here)
The race for second place was incredibly tight, but the prize had to go to Lilly O. because I still can't figure out exactly how she made that vending machine. It took not just the dedication and creativity to build a vending machine out of cardboard, but also the ability to figure out how to make such a difficult scene work in real life. Fantastic work.
THIRD PLACE PRIZE (Signed Print) GOES TO:

MIKE AIROSUS, RAVI SHAH, DAVE RILEY, and STEPH MAGNUSON for "Extreme Deodorant"
(see the original here)
Again, this was very close to being in second, as these guys also took an extremely difficult, if not impossible scene and replicated it to the last detail in real life. The airplane is my favorite part. Great work guys. (Also, to give credit, it was Mike Airosus' original "Croissant Fever" entry that inspired the contest to begin with.)
Congrats to the winners, you guys were truly outstanding. As for everyone else who entered, I'm sorry, but we cannot all be winners. However, all this week I'm going to be posting some of the other great, bizarre, funny, and downright creepy entries I received, so you may be famous yet.
Thanks again to everyone who entered and made "the best contest ever" the best contest ever.
-Asher
p.s. The Pharaoh cartoon is now a t-shirt design if you are interested.

ok guys, a couple of things.
Number One: the contest is going great, a lot of people have entered and many of the entries are pretty amazing. however, i've been talking to a lot of you and many are saying that they wished they could have entered but were too busy to come up with something by the deadline. so, i am EXTENDING THE CONTEST DEADLINE FOR ONE MORE WEEK! the new deadline for entries is MONDAY, OCTOBER 3RD. also, a few of you have asked if you can submit multiple entries. the answer to that is a definite yes, but you can only win one prize for your best entry. also, i will be posting the winning entries the day after the deadline, so you have that to look forward to. so, for those of you who wished you could turn back time and come up with something, consider me the contest fairy.
Number Two: If you scroll down to the bottom of the site, you'll see the EotM TIP JAR. If any of you are feeling generous, I would greatly appreciate a little financial support (think of it like buying a ticket to a friend's concert, eh?). It's all safe and secure through paypal, so don't worry about me taking your identity and buying real estate in guatemala or something. anyways, thanks for your time, enjoy!

Happy Birthday!
Hey everybody, sorry I took so long to post a new cartoon (moving cross country, new classes, labor day, etc.) but who cares because today marks the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF ELEPHANTITIS OF THE MIND! Yes, that's right, just a year ago today this site was nothing more than a silly project for an audience of about seven people. And now look where we are. Thanks so much to all of you who are linking the site in your AIM profiles, myspace, friendster, and facebook profiles, livejournals , xangas, blogspots, etc. I keep tabs on where the links are coming from, so know that if you've linked me from your site, it is known and appreciated. You guys have made the site what it is today, and if you keep visiting I'll keep drawing. Some exciting stuff will be happening on the site soon, including some really cool new products at the store, and some stuff for free, so get ready.
thanks again,
asher

props to mister Joey Roth for the inspiration for this cartoon. also, if you're thinking about getting something from the store (and my broken magic eight ball says "ask again later" when i ask if you are) you should think about doing it in the next day or so, because there is a CRAZY ASS SALE going on where you get $3 off all apparel (that's like clothes ok) and it ends TOMORROW (June 14th). You are going to feel like that kid with the curly red hair and the freckles from the sandlot and the big green who was forgotten by hollywood if you miss out...
enjoy,

happy summer vacation!
alright guys, a couple of things.
first off, i apologize for the ridiculous delay. add finals week to traveling back to america from italy to all the laziness that comes with school being over and you get everything but a new cartoon....this period gave me the opportunity to see just how many people are devoted to checking the site each and every day, and i must say i was pretty amazed. thank you all so much for being loyal and having faith in me, especially those (most) of you who don't know me. sorry that i took so long, but i don't expect it should happen again too soon. anyways, i thought this would be an apropriate time to start season three, so this is the first cartoon of the new season. i hope all of your finals are going well and if you aren't even close to finals at your school than it just sucks to be you. thanks again, peace.
p.s. excuse spelling mistakes. school is over.
